We came here in May 2018 to try on dresses and Julie was beyond helpful, knowledgeable about all her dresses and was happy to pick others that might suit me. She was extremely patient with me. During this appointment, I found the one but didnt purchase it as I was going to other dress shops that day. A few weeks later, my dress went into a sample sale and Julie went out of her way to fit me in the same day at 6pm to try it on again. Again, she took her time, was patient with me and let me try on a selection of belts to go with the dress. It fit perfectly and I took it home with me that day. Julie was never pushy in trying to sell anything or trying to get you to buy extras and was very understanding in how much of a financial commitment a wedding dress can be! Im so grateful for the service provided here and I absolutely love my dress. I absolutely recommend coming here for great service and beautiful dresses.
I visited the store back in 2010 with what was once my sister in law to be when we were searching for her wedding dress. Which the staff where so kind and helpful. I then went back myself once I got engaged in 2013 I had a appointment with saffron and she made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. I knew which dress I loved before I went in the shop. Saffron wanted to help the experience to be perfect so we tried on some other styles first before we tried the one I originally had my heart set on. All the dresses were beautiful and was great to see what i looked like in the other styles. But once I put my dream dress on I couldnt help but want to stay in it for as long as possible. Saffron bless her heart didnt mind and didnt rush me to take it off. And helped me pick out the perfect tiara and veil to go with it. My fitting appointments where both with saffron and Julie and they were amazing I cant thank them enough for all the hard work they put in with taking my dress in on the areas I wished to be that little more fitted and taking the length up with all the layers that were on my dress. They then went above and beyond knowing we where marrying abroad they steamed and packed my eleven layered dress veil and tiara into a small cabin case ready for me to collect the day before flying out. I would have recommended them to anyone who I know that has got married or due to be married and they all agree that they had the most amazing experience. Thanks you so much Julie and saffron.
I had the most wonderful experience at Gowns and Garters for my wedding in August 2018. I cant thank Julie enough - she was so patient, relaxed and supportive. I had the most amazing experience with this shop, after finding my dream dress whilst I was just supposed to be browsing 2 years before my wedding. This shop is in a village where family live, a 4 hour drive from my home. They were helpful and accommodating keeping the dress for me and also with fittings, booking me in well in advance during school holidays when I could travel up. The service and alterations were perfect, the dress fitted me amazingly. The staff in the shop treated me like a princess and I would not hesitate to recommend them all.
